Pang Ming decided to leave his professional accounting background of over 20 years to fully immerse himself in the sports cards and collectibles industry in 2024.

 

His interest in sports cards started all the way back in 1993 but stepped aside to focus on a professional Magic the Gathering career from 2001 to 2018. His professional resume included three consecutive years on the National team (representing Malaysia), multiple top eight appearances in high level international tournaments and a 2017 National Champion title.

 

Due to the pandemic, Pang Ming took a step back from MTG and renewed his interest in sports cards, inspired by Gary Vee and Geoff Wilson from Sports Card Investor. His passion and side hustle turned into an actual business framework as he was able to leverage on his 20 years of experience in finance and business.

 

Starting January 2024, Pang Ming began dedicating all his time and attention to the hobby. Through Courtside Investor Podcast which he started in early 2025, Pang Ming reaches out to friends and guests from all around the world who shares similar passions in collecting, investing and creating content about sports cards and collectibles.
